- Analytics: We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymized usage data including pages visited, time on site, and referral sources. This data is aggregated and cannot identify individual visitors.
- Server logs: Our web server records IP addresses, browser type, and request timestamps in standard access logs. These are retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes.
How We Use Your Data
- Newsletter delivery: Your email address is used solely to send you our daily digest of published articles. We use Mailgun (Sinch) as our email delivery provider.
- Site improvement: Aggregated analytics help us understand which topics resonate and improve content quality.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your data is shared only with:
- Mailgun (Sinch): Email delivery service, processes your email address to deliver newsletters. Subject to Mailgun’s Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics: Anonymized site usage data. Subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
- Email addresses: Retained as long as your subscription is active. Deleted upon unsubscription.
- Analytics data: Retained for 14 months per Google Analytics default settings.
- Server logs: Retained for up to 30 days.
Your Rights
You may at any time:
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter via the link in any email or through your account settings.
- Request deletion of your data by emailing hello@swarmsignal.net.
- Request a copy of data we hold about you.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for site functionality (Ghost CMS session management) and analytics cookies (Google Analytics). No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
Children’s Privacy
Swarm Signal is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
